There Are Nearly 50 Food Tech Incubators and Accelerators Around the World
With the global population believed to be at 7.7 billion people as of November 2019, it should come as no surprise that food and agriculture-related business is booming.
In fact, the global food tech market is expected to grow over $250 billion by 2022, (source) and investors and corporations are pouring funds into food and ad tech-related businesses.
Tech investors have continued to accelerate the pace of of investment into food start-ups (with more than one billion invested in 2018), but the reality is that the true opportunity extends far beyond variations of meal delivery kits. While meat alternatives (e.g., Beyond Meat/Impossible Foods) and delivery innovations (e.g,, drones and bots) have garnered many of the recent headlines, opportunity remains on several fronts.
